Geneva® 935 is a 1976 cross of ‘Ottawa 3 X Robusta 5’ by the Cornell University/Geneva Apple Rootstock Breeding Program.

Geneva® 935 produces trees slightly larger than trees budded on M-26. It has had similar efficiency to M-9 along with excellent fruit size and wide crotch angles. The Geneva® 935 rootstock also shows to be very winter hardy.

Geneva® 935 is highly resistant to fire blight and Phytophthora but is not resistance to Woolly Apple Aphid. Also shows tolerance to replant disease.

Geneva® 935 rootstock propagates well in the stoolbed and produces a large tree in the nursery. The Geneva® 935 is a nursery friendly rootstock.

Geneva® 935 rootstock could be a good replacement for M-26 because its fruit production and its ability to deal with some of the problems of M-26 rootstock such as fire blight.
